Shipping Area to Drivers

How to Assign a Driver to a Shipping Area

After creating a shipping area and registering your delivery personnel, the next step is to link them together. This guide explains how to assign specific shipping areas to your drivers so that new orders from those locations are automatically routed to the correct driver.

Before You Begin

  • Drivers: You must first add your drivers into the system via the Users section.
  • Shipping Areas: Ensure you have already created the target shipping areas.
  • Max Orders: The maximum number of orders a driver can handle (e.g., 15) is predefined within the Shipping Area settings, not on this assignment screen.

1. Navigating to the Assignment Page

  1. Go to the main navigation menu on the left side of your dashboard.
  2. Click to expand the Sales module.
  3. Select Shipping Area To Driver from the drop-down list.

2. Assigning a New Driver

  1. At the top of the page, ensure the correct branch is selected from the Select Branch drop-down menu (e.g., ABU DHABI - ABU DHABI).
  2. Click the green Assign Driver to Shipping Area > button located in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. An "Assign Driver to Shipping Area" pop-up window will appear.
  4. Click the Drivers drop-down field and select the designated driver (e.g., driver2 - Driver).
  5. Click the Shipping Areas drop-down field and select the geographical area you want to assign to this driver (e.g., Shabia11).
  6. Click the green Save button to confirm.

Success: A notification will appear at the top of your screen confirming the assignment was successful. The driver will immediately appear in the assignment table, and any future orders placed for that specific shipping area will be routed to them automatically.

3. Managing Existing Assignments

The main dashboard table displays a clear overview of all current assignments. For each row, you can view the assigned Driver, their designated Shipping Area, and their Max Orders capacity.

  • To edit an assignment: Click the yellow Edit button (pencil icon) in the Action column. This will reopen the assignment pop-up, allowing you to quickly change the assigned driver or the shipping area.
  • To delete an assignment: Click the red Cancel/Delete button ("X" icon) in the Action column to remove the link between the driver and the shipping area.
